Overview

I came onto Black Adam's production to lead the virtual art department on Warner Bros' first virtual production. Working alongside production designer Tom Meyer, director Jaume Collet-Serra, and VFX supervisor Bill Westenhofer, I ran a team of about eight Unreal Engine environment and layout artists, a tech artist, and a part-time engineer; planning scenes, designing sets, building virtual production tools, and creating hero assets that were passed off to VFX. Over the three month period, the team explored every location in teathered VR headsets.

Project Details:

Day for Nite did an amazing job with the previs shots and animation. My team built roughly eight hero locations containing 25+ sets, hero previs characters, 300+ storyboard shots, the storyboard shots would then be grabbed by the concept artist for paintovers, and from previs as a starting point. We installed and managed the asset database for Unreal Engine and VFX assets.
