CEO, Producer, Founder

Overview

Narwhal Studios began as Happy Mushroom, the virtual-art-department studio I co-founded with Safari Sosebee and ran for the better part of a decade. We were the bridge between the art department, story, and tech (VFX or Game Engine). When The Mandalorian hit, we grew from fifteen people to over a hundred. I ran it as Creative Director, Producer, and CEO, from the first hire through to the sale. Along the way we worked closely with creatives like Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Andrew Jones, Greig Fraser, Jesse James, and Doug Chiang. The whole approach grew out of my years at The Third Floor, where I first learned to build previs and environments inside the art department.

Studio Credit Highlights:

As one of the first studios to specialize in Unreal Engine inside the art department, we carried Lucasfilm's entire Star Wars slate into virtual production — from The Mandalorian through Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew — plus features and series for Marvel, Warner Bros., Netflix, Apple TV+, and Paramount.
