Overview

Season 1 won the 2020 Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Production Design (Andrew Jones, Jeff Wisniewski, Amanda Serino). I art directed the virtual art department, building the digital sets the volume rendered in real time. The environments had to read as real on the LED wall and hold up in-camera, which meant getting detail, scale, and lighting right before anyone walked on stage.

It was early in the LED volume's life, and much of the process was figured out as we went. The award belongs to the whole production design team; for us, it was proof that game-engine sets could meet a feature-level art department's bar.
